Maybe i'm missing something, but the graphs don't add up. For example, on the 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th of March, when i switch between a daily graph and the the hourly graph, the highs and lows don't match up..On the daily graph for the 9th H = 52369, L = 51800, where the Hourly graph shows H = 52368, L = 51802. This was not too odd. Until, the daily graph for the 12th H = 52888, L = 52250, vs the hourly graph H = 53744, L = 53089. The hourly graph L, was higher than the daily graph H? Same happened on the 13th. Daily H = 52578, L = 52032, vs Hourly H = 53218, L = 52656. Again on the 14th Daily H = 52114, L = 51560 vs Hourly H = 52752, L = 52400. And again on the 15th, daily graph H = 52052, L = 51650 vs hourly graph H = 52666, L = 52064. Surely the same underlying data informs all the different time frames, or am i wrong?

Easily the most complex corrective pattern I've ever seen. Ominous in its confusion and grind. Don't be surprised to see this being the setup before this market shows it's true colors. Short is the only play here.

Minute 1 of Minor 3 setting up into a leading diagonal. A leading diagonal following an ending diagonal, doesn't get much more bearish than that. We'll wait and see if it plays out.

Finally minor 2 is complete. Some acceleration to the downside expected targeting December's low of 50 789. That was one of the choppiest rides I've ever seen in competing the ending diagonal. Perfectly apt for a minor 2 of intermediate 1. Considering we're competing a 89 year bull market it can't really be a surprise that complacency reigns.

Proper acceleration expected during minor 3 of intermediate 3. Market will sell off and buy back a few times before then but once we get there this thing should start panic shareholders.

First extrapolation of Minor 1 gives Primary A a final target of 25 500. Long way down from here. Question is will it all happen in 2018?

Correction one more move higher today to finish minor 2. Then business begins. US market needs one more move higher today to complete its decade long top. Some would argue it's actually a 89 year top.

Completing minute 4 of minor 1. One more move down before a bounce. Probably at 50 400 cash. Primary C showing some ominous signs having taken so much out of the Jse without having even completed a minor wave. Building towards that 28 000 target.

I would suggest reading up on Robert Pretcher and his work on Elliot wave theory. Trading with this knowledge gives you a massive edge. It's dismissed by those who aren't patient enough to understand it but it's honestly the best view on how markets move because it's not an external theory that attempts to explain market moves in terms of everyday economic experiences but rather one that was observed and noted from true market behavior.

52 535 represents the 1.414 extension of the potential primary A. It served as resistance 2 months ago. Once that is taken a break below 50 400 would undermine bullish minor counts and confirm an intermediate 3 completion. A further move below 48 680 would confirm the primary C and then the bear is fully underway. All cash numbers

54 210 level breezed through. Still potential for a push a little to a new Ath but we all know it will depend on how Tencent trades. My view is we've just begun the Primary C wave following a flat correction. Time will tell what kind of flat correction it is but fundamentals would suggest expanding. Sticking to my 28 000 target on cash.

I'm the end it's all euphoria. The drive to own Rand hedge shares is a crazy bias that assumes that the underlying shares can never go down. It's South Africa's own little private bubble mentality. In downturns losses translate bigger when your currency is weak. Not factored in at all in this bull run

Yup no doubt. I intend to hold shorts until this has corrected appropriately which I believe to be at a min of 28 000 cash. I've accepted the pain. I'm keeping my exposure small now and ramping up as it gains momentum to the downside. Removes the need to time the top. Almost like buying an option premium a couple of times before you get it right

I've been looking at it and it appears to me the overall correlation between the Jse and the Rand is a lot lower than one might think. Jse is more correlated to other equities over the longer term. It's simply bubbling up along with the Hang Seng etc.

If you can find a strategy to survive and push your will to the extreme it's a life changing trade setting up. I've been at it for 2 years and have been killed. Doesn't matter though because the drawdown will be so deep and so fast any losses will be quickly erased

Gregory LichterTencent dropped a bit from its 52 week high, but reluctant to call a top on this beast. Will pension funds start cashing in on Naspers or is it still trading at a discount to Tencent, even with a P/E over 150, most brokers still has a Buy rating on it, madness.

Problem with a bubble is nobody cashes out until it's too late. They're so desperate for returns they'll hold on until it's too late. Pension funds and insurance companies shouldn't be holding onto such risky assets but rules get relaxed to accommodate what is needed in the short at the expense of the long term

The over investment by the pension funds and insurance companies does not bode well for the future. The JSEs overall diversification is extremely poor and is now so fragile that it's hard to imagine anything surviving the impending correction. Future here in SA is going to be very tough, even harder than it's been by some distance. Once again the greed of those with capital will ultimately crush those without.

Next major resistance level here is 54 100 on cash. Going to take some mighty global moves to move the Jse through it. You know what failure there means too. Completion of a major bull run that lasts back further than most care to remember or possibly can.

Trust me we all end up paying school fees and what makes it worse is that the markets have been very volatile. Sideways movements that we experiencing this last week requires that we bank profits as soon as possible. If you still have the position then I would suggest you keep a stop loss that you would determine is appropriate. I myself am no expert but a mere scholar learning everyday
