For decades, if not centuries, actors, musicians, and athletes have been leveraging their celebrity status to make money in through different avenues. One of the most historically profitable industries has been the beverage industry, where unlikely names have struck out on their own to create everything from luxury water brands to alcoholic beverages for people on a diet.
Celebrities often create their own brands and are shocked when the ventures are judged by the same harsh standards as the rest of the non-famous industry. There are some celebrity drinks that get excellent reviews (like Coppola’s winery, Danny DeVito’s Limoncello), and more, while others fizzle, despite having the famous face attached to them.
Beyond creating their own brands, one of the more lucrative ways for celebrities to attach themselves to a beverage is by representing said company in advertisements. Companies from Pepsi to Smart Water all rely on famous faces to sell their products, and have used this tactic to incredible results.
