Danone Earnings miss, Revenue beats In Q2

Investing.com - Danone reported on Thursday second quarter earnings that missed analysts' forecasts and revenue that topped expectations.

Danone announced earnings per share of €1.6 on revenue of €6.17B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of €1.98 on revenue of €6B.

Danone shares are up 19% from the beginning of the year and are trading at €60.34 , down-from-52-week-high.They are under-performing the AEX which is up 21% from the start of the year.

Danone shares gained 5.54% in intra-day trade the report.

Danone follows other major Consumer Staples sector earnings this month

Danone's report follows an earnings missed by Carrefour on Wednesday, who reported EPS of €0.34 on revenue of €19.69B, compared to forecasts EPS of €0.36 on revenue of €19.73B.
