Japan shares higher at close of trade; Nikkei 225 up 1.52%

Investing.com – Japan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp , Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 1.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were JGC Corp. (T: 1963 ), which rose 8.84% or 78.0 points to trade at 960.0 at the close. Yokogawa Electric Corp. (T: 6841 ) added 8.52% or 108.0 points to end at 1375.0 and J.Front Retailing Co., Ltd. (T: 3086 ) was up 8.31% or 65.0 points to 847.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eisai Co., Ltd. (T: 4523 ), which lost 8.90% or 691.0 points to trade at 7076.0 in late trade. Advantest Corp. (T: 6857 ) declined 2.25% or 115.0 points to end at 4985.0 and Recruit Holdings Co Ltd (T: 6098 ) shed 1.08% or 30.0 points to 2758.5.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 3102 to 553 and 116 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 42.02.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 8.27% or 1.14 to $14.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 5.94% or 1.21 to hit $21.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 1.00 to trade at $1739.30 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.07% to 107.80, while EUR/JPY fell 0.18% to 116.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.683.
