Japan shares lower at close of trade; Nikkei 225 down 0.76%

Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp , Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (T: 7201 ), which rose 6.07% or 25.4 points to trade at 444.0 at the close. ANA Holdings Inc (T: 9202 ) added 5.15% or 126.0 points to end at 2571.0 and Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (T: 5801 ) was up 4.87% or 128.0 points to 2756.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yahoo Japan Corp. (T: 4689 ), which lost 4.48% or 24.0 points to trade at 512.0 in late trade. Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (T: 4519 ) declined 4.28% or 232.0 points to end at 5192.0 and Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (T: 7735 ) shed 4.17% or 230.0 points to 5290.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2257 to 1252 and 164 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 23.11.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.80% or 0.33 to $40.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.41% or 0.18 to hit $43.61 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 5.40 to trade at $1808.40 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.06% to 106.98, while EUR/JPY rose 0.01% to 121.99.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.105.
