Japan shares lower at close of trade; Nikkei 225 down 1.32%

Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transportation Equipment , Machinery and Electrical/Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Tokuyama Corp. (TYO: 4043 ), which rose 2.74% or 48.00 points to trade at 1,802.00 at the close. Taiheiyo Cement Corp. (TYO: 5233 ) added 2.72% or 55.00 points to end at 2,079.00 and Chiyoda Corp. (TYO: 6366 ) was up 2.38% or 11.00 points to 473.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Daiichi Sankyo Co., Ltd. (TYO: 4568 ), which lost 7.02% or 232.00 points to trade at 3,073.00 in late trade. Nissan Chemical Industries, Ltd. (TYO: 4021 ) declined 5.80% or 420.00 points to end at 6,820.00 and Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO: 4911 ) shed 3.82% or 207.00 points to 5,217.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2545 to 988 and 229 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 21.25% to 25.79.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.84% or 1.02 to $121.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.89% or 1.09 to hit $123.36 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.25 to trade at $1,832.05 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.06% to 134.32, while EUR/JPY rose 0.51% to 140.57.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 104.61.
