South Africa's RCL Foods interim profit rise 12% from a year earlier

JOHANNESBURG, March 1 (Reuters) - South African food producer RCL Foods RCLJ.J on Monday reported a 12% increase in half-year profit, boosted by the performance of its sugar, baking and logistics segments.

Headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the six months ended on Dec. 31 rose 12% to 59.7 cents from 53.3 cents a year earlier.

HEPS is the main profit measure used in South Africa, which strips out certain once-off items.
