Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.10%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials , Public Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.10% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (SA: BRKM5 ), which rose 3.25% or 1.55 points to trade at 49.27 at the close. Cielo SA (SA: CIEL3 ) added 3.07% or 0.73 points to end at 24.48 and Qualicorp SA (SA: QUAL3 ) was up 2.17% or 0.67 points to 31.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tim Participacoes SA (SA: TIMP3 ), which lost 3.49% or 0.46 points to trade at 12.73 in late trade. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA: USIM5 ) declined 3.01% or 0.34 points to end at 10.96 and Multiplan SA (SA: MULT3 ) shed 2.99% or 2.20 points to 71.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 226 to 201 and 42 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 9.37% to 34.32 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.36% or 4.80 to $1339.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.78% or 0.50 to hit $63.80 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.29% or 1.58 to trade at $120.67 .
USD/BRL was up 0.26% to 3.2246, while EUR/BRL rose 0.31% to 3.9577.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 90.14.
