Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.34%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumption and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA Pref (SA: GGBR4 ), which rose 3.82% or 0.43 points to trade at 11.70 at the close. Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA: GOAU4 ) added 2.88% or 0.15 points to end at 5.35 and BRF SA (SA: BRFS3 ) was up 2.57% or 0.92 points to 36.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kroton Educacional SA (SA: KROT3 ), which lost 3.96% or 0.70 points to trade at 16.99 in late trade. Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA: CSAN3 ) declined 2.09% or 0.74 points to end at 34.75 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ) shed 1.69% or 0.32 points to 18.58.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 241 to 137 and 37 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.30% to 33.17.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.20% or 2.50 to $1250.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.18% or 0.67 to hit $57.36 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.20% or 0.25 to trade at $122.72 .
USD/BRL was up 0.04% to 3.2919, while EUR/BRL rose 0.00% to 3.8741.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.87.
