Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.43%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials , Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.43%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ), which rose 7.40% or 2.09 points to trade at 30.33 at the close. B2W Cia Digital (SA: BTOW3 ) added 5.76% or 1.64 points to end at 30.10 and Viavarejo Unt (SA: VVAR11 ) was up 5.17% or 1.05 points to 21.35 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA: MRFG3 ), which lost 4.28% or 0.32 points to trade at 7.16 in late trade. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ) declined 2.17% or 1.02 points to end at 45.98 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA: RAIL3 ) shed 1.74% or 0.25 points to 14.15.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 279 to 142 and 41 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 6.88% to 31.82.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.70 to $1201.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $67.17 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.60% or 0.64 to trade at $105.28 .

USD/BRL was down 0.62% to 3.8622, while EUR/BRL fell 1.16% to 4.3819.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 96.56.
