Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.89%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Public Utilities , Financials and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA: GOLL4 ), which rose 10.70% or 1.76 points to trade at 18.21 at the close. CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA: CMIG4 ) added 8.50% or 0.96 points to end at 12.25 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ) was up 5.81% or 1.28 points to 23.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ), which lost 6.46% or 2.73 points to trade at 39.50 in late trade. WEG SA (SA: WEGE3 ) declined 4.89% or 0.93 points to end at 18.08 and Qualicorp SA (SA: QUAL3 ) shed 3.52% or 0.52 points to 14.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 252 to 228 and 34 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.93% to 46.85.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.59% or 7.20 to $1236.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.50% or 0.34 to hit $67.67 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.03% or 1.25 to trade at $119.90 .
USD/BRL was down 1.43% to 3.6527, while EUR/BRL fell 1.14% to 4.1671.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 96.12.
