Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 2.26%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials , Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 2.26%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA: RAIL3 ), which rose 7.48% or 0.94 points to trade at 13.50 at the close. Banco do Brasil SA (SA: BBAS3 ) added 7.01% or 1.72 points to end at 26.24 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA: RENT3 ) was up 6.45% or 1.45 points to 23.93 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA: SUZB3 ), which lost 5.27% or 2.44 points to trade at 43.85 in late trade. Klabin Unt (SA: KLBN11 ) declined 1.97% or 0.40 points to end at 19.90 and Vale SA (SA: VALE3 ) shed 1.85% or 0.91 points to 48.30.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 258 to 173 and 26 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.92% to 34.17.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 2.20 to $1277.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.17% or 0.77 to hit $64.92 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.17% or 0.20 to trade at $116.42 .

USD/BRL was down 0.18% to 3.7401, while EUR/BRL fell 0.44% to 4.3359.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 94.62.
