Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.56%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.56%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA: MRFG3 ), which rose 6.00% or 0.36 points to trade at 6.36 at the close. Vale SA Pref (SA: VALE5 ) added 5.87% or 1.49 points to end at 26.86 and Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ) was up 5.44% or 1.01 points to 19.58 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA: SBSP3 ), which lost 5.58% or 1.82 points to trade at 30.78 in late trade. RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA: RAIL3 ) declined 1.81% or 0.16 points to end at 8.69 and Banco Bradesco SA Pref (SA: BBDC4 ) shed 1.74% or 0.55 points to 31.14.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 216 to 123 and 34 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.17% to 35.64.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1283.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.37% or 0.19 to hit $50.66 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 4.37% or 6.14 to trade at $134.38 .

USD/BRL was up 0.14% to 3.1573, while EUR/BRL rose 0.25% to 3.3851.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 99.70.
