Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.63%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials , Basic Materials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.63% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA: JBSS3 ), which rose 4.60% or 0.44 points to trade at 10.00 at the close. Gerdau SA (SA: GGBR4 ) added 4.52% or 0.30 points to end at 6.94 and Tim Participacoes SA (SA: TIMP3 ) was up 4.24% or 0.31 points to 7.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA: CMIG4 ), which lost 4.92% or 0.42 points to trade at 8.12 in late trade. Lojas Americanas SA (SA: LAME4 ) declined 3.12% or 0.56 points to end at 17.41 and ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA: RUMO3 ) shed 2.90% or 0.160 points to 5.350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 185 to 125 and 32 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.84% to 34.59 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.66% or 8.75 to $1344.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 3.57% or 1.67 to hit $45.13 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.06% or 0.09 to trade at $147.52 .
USD/BRL was down 0.86% to 3.2677, while EUR/BRL fell 0.60% to 3.6240.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 96.36.
