Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 1.13%
Credit: © Reuters. – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.13%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA: CPLE6 ), which rose 4.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.00 at the close. Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA: PCAR4 ) added 2.97% or 1.89 points to end at 65.62 and Vale SA (SA: VALE3 ) was up 2.84% or 0.82 points to 29.71 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ), which lost 4.09% or 0.65 points to trade at 15.25 in late trade. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET6 ) declined 4.08% or 0.77 points to end at 18.11 and Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA: UGPA3 ) shed 0.59% or 0.45 points to 76.15.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 211 to 144 and 35 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.42% to 29.80.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.28% or 3.37 to $1213.07 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.57% or 0.25 to hit $44.48 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.03% or 0.04 to trade at $128.88 .

USD/BRL was down 0.64% to 3.2594, while EUR/BRL fell 0.64% to 3.7156.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.81.
