Brazil shares higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 4.08%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials , Consumption and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 4.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA: USIM5 ), which rose 9.91% or 0.21 points to trade at 2.33 at the close. Qualicorp SA (SA: QUAL3 ) added 9.12% or 1.30 points to end at 15.55 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA: PETR4 ) was up 7.70% or 0.73 points to 10.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Braskem SA (SA: BRKM5 ), which lost 1.76% or 0.38 points to trade at 21.20 in late trade. Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA: MRFG3 ) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 6.15 and Tractebel Energia SA (SA: TBLE3 ) gained 0.95% or 0.35 points to 37.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 230 to 72 and 20 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 7.69% to 42.03.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.07% or 0.90 to $1267.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.23% or 0.97 to hit $44.41 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 1.89% or 2.39 to trade at $128.92 .
USD/BRL was down 1.34% to 3.4693, while EUR/BRL fell 1.44% to 3.9451.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 94.24.
