Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.20%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials , Electric Power and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were BRF SA (SA: BRFS3 ), which rose 4.23% or 1.02 points to trade at 25.16 at the close. Tim Participacoes SA (SA: TIMP3 ) added 3.27% or 0.46 points to end at 14.52 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA: RADL3 ) was up 3.23% or 2.49 points to 79.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Smiles Fidelidade SA (SA: SMLS3 ), which lost 9.88% or 7.90 points to trade at 72.10 in late trade. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET6 ) declined 4.51% or 1.28 points to end at 27.09 and Estacio Participacoes SA (SA: ESTC3 ) shed 3.56% or 1.16 points to 31.42.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 207 to 169 and 39 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.88% to 31.11.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.67% or 8.90 to $1326.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.01% or 1.26 to hit $61.34 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.21% or 0.25 to trade at $120.72 .
USD/BRL was up 1.07% to 3.2454, while EUR/BRL rose 1.11% to 4.0282.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 89.55.
