Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Financials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which rose 7.58% or 3.66 points to trade at 51.96 at the close. Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 6.07% or 1.98 points to end at 34.58 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) was up 5.22% or 1.15 points to 23.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Smiles Fidelidade SA (SA:SMLS3), which lost 9.13% or 5.26 points to trade at 52.36 in late trade. B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) declined 6.95% or 1.86 points to end at 24.89 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) shed 6.34% or 1.10 points to 16.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 277 to 147 and 35 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.25% to 31.14.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.10% or 1.30 to $1300.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.75% or 0.49 to hit $65.03 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.95% or 1.14 to trade at $118.28 .
USD/BRL was up 0.93% to 3.8442, while EUR/BRL rose 1.45% to 4.5253.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.62.
