Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.86% – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials , Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.86% to hit a new 6-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were CCR SA (SA: CCRO3 ), which rose 4.84% or 0.48 points to trade at 10.39 at the close. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ) added 4.65% or 0.60 points to end at 13.50 and Viavarejo Unt (SA: VVAR11 ) was up 4.35% or 0.84 points to 20.15 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Cvc Brasil ON (SA: CVCB3 ), which lost 6.12% or 3.00 points to trade at 46.00 in late trade. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA: USIM5 ) declined 4.59% or 0.39 points to end at 8.11 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA: KROT3 ) shed 4.26% or 0.46 points to 10.34.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 240 to 218 and 24 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.06% to 35.13.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 1.70 to $1304.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.49% or 0.32 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.09% or 0.11 to trade at $117.22 .

USD/BRL was up 0.09% to 3.7088, while EUR/BRL rose 0.17% to 4.3707.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 93.56.
