Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.22%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption , Public Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.22% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (SA: BRKM5 ), which rose 21.40% or 8.80 points to trade at 49.92 at the close. WEG SA (SA: WEGE3 ) added 3.48% or 0.53 points to end at 15.78 and Engie Brasil Energia SA (SA: EGIE3 ) was up 1.97% or 0.66 points to 34.21 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET3 ), which lost 8.39% or 1.19 points to trade at 13.00 in late trade. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA: ELET6 ) declined 8.20% or 1.34 points to end at 15.01 and Viavarejo Unt (SA: VVAR11 ) shed 6.51% or 1.39 points to 19.96.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 296 to 120 and 38 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.65% to 33.90.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.95% or 25.50 to $1282.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.53% or 2.36 to hit $64.53 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.28% or 0.32 to trade at $115.35 .
USD/BRL was down 2.06% to 3.7282, while EUR/BRL fell 1.67% to 4.3290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.78.
