Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.00%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Electric Power and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA: JBSS3 ), which rose 6.71% or 0.47 points to trade at 7.47 at the close. Qualicorp SA (SA: QUAL3 ) added 2.90% or 0.89 points to end at 31.63 and Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA: PCAR4 ) was up 2.13% or 1.49 points to 71.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gerdau SA Pref (SA: GGBR4 ), which lost 5.30% or 0.59 points to trade at 10.55 in late trade. Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA: GOAU4 ) declined 5.09% or 0.28 points to end at 5.22 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA: CSNA3 ) shed 4.48% or 0.35 points to 7.47.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 231 to 134 and 42 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.48% to 24.64 a new 52-week low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.65% or 8.09 to $1260.19 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.69% or 0.81 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 2.87% or 3.75 to trade at $134.47 .
USD/BRL was down 0.98% to 3.1415, while EUR/BRL fell 0.34% to 3.6829.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 93.36.
