Brazil shares lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.05%

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials , Industrials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.05%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA: RUMO3 ), which rose 6.19% or 0.380 points to trade at 6.520 at the close. Braskem SA (SA: BRKM5 ) added 4.95% or 1.23 points to end at 26.10 and EDP - Energias do Brasil SA (SA: ENBR3 ) was up 1.95% or 0.29 points to 15.14 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bradespar SA (SA: BRAP4 ), which lost 3.76% or 0.42 points to trade at 10.74 in late trade. Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA: PCAR4 ) declined 2.72% or 1.49 points to end at 53.24 and Gerdau SA (SA: GGBR4 ) shed 2.56% or 0.25 points to 9.50.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 221 to 93 and 35 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.31% to 35.30.

In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.46% or 5.75 to $1254.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.01% or 0.52 to hit $50.83 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.00% or 1.53 to trade at $150.95 .

USD/BRL was down 0.24% to 3.1979, while EUR/BRL fell 1.01% to 3.5351.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 97.68.
