Denmark shares higher at close of trade; OMX Copenhagen 20 up 0.62%

Investing.com – Denmark equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services , Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 gained 0.62% to hit a new 3-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were FLSmidth & Co. (CO: FLS ), which rose 2.32% or 7.4 points to trade at 326.4 at the close. Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CO: VWS ) added 2.24% or 11.2 points to end at 511.4 and William Demant Holding AS (CO: WDH ) was up 2.19% or 4.4 points to 205.2 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Pandora A/S (CO: PNDORA ), which lost 1.75% or 5.0 points to trade at 280.5 in late trade. Danske Bank A/S (CO: DANSKE ) declined 1.20% or 1.6 points to end at 131.2 and Jyske Bank A/S (CO: JYSK ) shed 0.82% or 2.0 points to 241.5.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 49 and 20 ended unchanged on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 4.30% or 2.14 to $51.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 3.87% or 2.27 to hit $60.99 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.50 to trade at $1289.40 a troy ounce.

USD/DKK was down 0.75% to 6.4766, while EUR/DKK rose 0.02% to 7.4665.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 94.905.
