Finland shares higher at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 up 0.91%

Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.91%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE: OUT1V ), which rose 6.54% or 0.2370 points to trade at 3.8630 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE: HUH1V ) added 4.35% or 1.11 points to end at 26.62 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE: STERV ) was up 2.53% or 0.305 points to 12.365 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Amer Sports Corporation (HE: AMEAS ), which added 0.03% or 0.01 points to trade at 33.81 in late trade. Orion Oyj B (HE: ORNBV ) added 0.17% or 0.05 points to end at 29.84 and Nokia Oyj (HE: NOKIA ) gained 0.20% or 0.010 points to 4.898.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 71 and 8 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 2.35% or 1.47 to $64.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.71% or 1.98 to hit $55.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 6.00 to trade at $1227.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1384, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8913.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 96.648.
