Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V), which rose 2.71% or 0.14 points to trade at 5.32 at the close. Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) added 1.84% or 0.18 points to end at 9.96 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 1.78% or 0.53 points to 30.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 1.57% or 0.052 points to trade at 3.258 in late trade. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) declined 1.42% or 0.075 points to end at 5.220 and Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) shed 1.04% or 0.27 points to 25.61.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 57 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.98% or 0.83 to $42.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.79% or 0.71 to hit $40.43 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.29% or 16.00 to trade at $1259.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1419, while EUR/GBP fell 0.79% to 0.8014.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 93.92.
