Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 2.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 4.07% or 0.2050 points to trade at 5.2450 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) added 3.31% or 0.83 points to end at 25.92 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was up 3.15% or 0.57 points to 18.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which lost 0.85% or 0.34 points to trade at 39.86 in late trade. KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) added 0.94% or 0.42 points to end at 45.29 and YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) gained 1.09% or 0.07 points to 6.49.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 124 to 54 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 2.88% or 1.31 to $46.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.83% or 1.22 to hit $44.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.53% or 7.00 to trade at $1324.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8391.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.89.
