Finland shares lower at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 down 0.76%
Credit: © Reuters. – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 0.76%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Fortum Oyj (HE: FORTUM ), which rose 2.39% or 0.46 points to trade at 19.71 at the close. KONE Oyj (HE: KNEBV ) added 0.98% or 0.42 points to end at 43.14 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HE: HUH1V ) was up 0.88% or 0.25 points to 28.58 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Metsa Board Oyj B (HE: METSB ), which lost 11.37% or 0.680 points to trade at 5.300 in late trade. Stora Enso Oyj R (HE: STERV ) declined 4.70% or 0.520 points to end at 10.540 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE: UPM ) shed 2.48% or 0.58 points to 22.83.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 100 to 54 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 0.91% or 0.55 to $60.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.39% or 0.71 to hit $51.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 2.95 to trade at $1247.05 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1353, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8997.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 97.165.
