Finland shares lower at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 down 0.95%
Credit: © Reuters. – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials , Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.95% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE: NESTE ), which rose 2.04% or 1.38 points to trade at 69.10 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE: WRT1V ) added 1.23% or 0.17 points to end at 14.39 and Telia Company AB (HE: TELIA1 ) was up 1.10% or 0.044 points to 4.060 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE: OTE1V ), which lost 5.34% or 0.187 points to trade at 3.316 in late trade. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE: UPM ) declined 5.15% or 1.29 points to end at 23.77 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE: STERV ) shed 4.77% or 0.565 points to 11.285.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 59 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 2.13% or 1.29 to $59.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.36% or 1.22 to hit $50.41 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.79% or 9.70 to trade at $1219.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1284, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8863.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 97.363.
