Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 1.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 0.24% or 0.07 points to trade at 29.53 at the close. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELI1V) fell 0.09% or 0.03 points to end at 32.36 and Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) was down 0.21% or 0.020 points to 9.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which lost 7.43% or 2.26 points to trade at 28.15 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 3.20% or 0.16 points to end at 4.97 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) shed 3.06% or 0.29 points to 9.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 58 and 23 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.31% or 0.95 to $40.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.41% or 0.54 to hit $37.75 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.99% or 12.40 to trade at $1269.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.63% to 1.1179, while EUR/GBP rose 0.88% to 0.7820.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.06% at 96.16.
