Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 lost 1.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V), which fell 0.10% or 0.01 points to trade at 5.04 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) fell 0.39% or 0.13 points to end at 32.96 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was down 0.61% or 0.10 points to 16.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V), which lost 5.18% or 1.11 points to trade at 20.32 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 5.14% or 0.180 points to end at 3.320 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) shed 2.75% or 0.57 points to 20.19.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 50 and 11 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.10% or 0.04 to $40.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.50% or 0.20 to hit $39.59 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.40 to trade at $1220.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1178, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.7887.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 96.11.
