Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV), which fell 0.61% or 0.22 points to trade at 36.06 at the close. Konecranes Oyj (HE:KCR1V) fell 0.65% or 0.15 points to end at 23.08 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FUM1V) was down 0.79% or 0.11 points to 13.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which lost 3.60% or 0.136 points to trade at 3.638 in late trade. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 3.20% or 0.21 points to end at 6.36 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) shed 2.47% or 0.180 points to 7.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 157 to 29 and 4 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.43% or 0.72 to $49.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.13% or 0.55 to hit $48.33 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1284.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7923.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 95.01.
