France shares higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.27%

Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials , Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA ), which rose 3.71% or 0.248 points to trade at 6.938 at the close. Cap Gemini SA (PA: CAPP ) added 3.57% or 3.03 points to end at 87.93 and Societe Generale (PA: SOGN ) was up 2.88% or 1.24 points to 44.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vivendi SA (PA: VIV ), which lost 1.05% or 0.18 points to trade at 17.47 in late trade. Sodexo (PA: EXHO ) declined 0.98% or 1.10 points to end at 111.65 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS: UNBP ) shed 0.83% or 1.85 points to 221.95.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Edenred (PA: EDEN ) which rose 4.99% to 23.56, Air France KLM SA (PA: AIRF ) which was up 4.17% to settle at 7.500 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: ISPA ) which gained 3.71% to close at 6.938.
The worst performers were Metropole TV (PA: MMTP ) which was down 3.33% to 20.30 in late trade, Eurazeo (PA: EURA ) which lost 2.61% to settle at 60.00 and ICADE (PA: ICAD ) which was down 1.21% to 68.81 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 340 to 286 and 87 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.83% to 27.00.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.82% or 10.60 to $1283.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.41% or 0.74 to hit $51.67 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.46% or 0.80 to trade at $54.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0712, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8380.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 99.69.
