Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.02%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking , Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.02%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT: HELr ), which rose 4.85% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.728 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT: PLAKR ) added 4.29% or 0.600 points to end at 14.700 and Sarantiseg (AT: SRSr ) was up 4.21% or 0.60 points to 14.85 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT: OLYr ), which lost 4.89% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.140 in late trade. National Bank of Greece (AT: NBGr ) declined 3.18% or 0.011 points to end at 0.335 and Marfin Invest (AT: MRFr ) shed 2.92% or 0.005 points to 0.159.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 55 and 8 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1307.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $67.22 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.60% or 0.44 to trade at $72.69 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1966, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8795.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 92.45.
