Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.05%
Credit: © Reuters. – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food , Banking and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.05% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Kekrops SA (AT: KEKr ), which rose 6.29% or 0.0900 points to trade at 1.5200 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT: BABr ) added 5.60% or 0.610 points to end at 11.510 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT: MORr ) was up 4.21% or 0.90 points to 22.30 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Attica Bank SA (AT: BOAr ), which lost 6.53% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.123 in late trade. Ellaktor SA (AT: HELr ) declined 6.53% or 0.088 points to end at 1.260 and Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT: INCr ) shed 4.15% or 0.050 points to 1.155.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 49 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 0.90 to $1190.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.43% or 1.82 to hit $73.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.95% or 1.66 to trade at $83.34 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1524, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8732.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 95.16.
