Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.37%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Travel , Media and Retail sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.37%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Cenergy Holdings SA (AT: CENEr ), which rose 3.42% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.2100 at the close. Reds (AT: CAMr ) added 2.98% or 0.025 points to end at 0.850 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT: BOPr ) was up 2.94% or 0.027 points to 0.945 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT: SELr ), which lost 4.65% or 0.0020 points to trade at 0.0410 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT: IKTr ) declined 4.58% or 0.2200 points to end at 4.5800 and Kekrops SA (AT: KEKr ) shed 3.33% or 0.0500 points to 1.4500.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 54 to 43 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1249.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.35% or 1.20 to hit $52.20 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.43% or 0.86 to trade at $60.83 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1322, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.9032.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 97.382.
