Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.44%
Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials , Retail and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Reds (AT: CAMr ), which rose 9.41% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.935 at the close. Terna Energy (AT: TENr ) added 3.39% or 0.200 points to end at 6.100 and Crete Plastics SA (AT: PLAKR ) was up 2.88% or 0.400 points to 14.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intracom Constructions Technical and Steel Constructions SA (AT: INCr ), which lost 6.25% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.500 in late trade. Intralot (AT: INLr ) declined 4.47% or 0.034 points to end at 0.727 and Ellaktor SA (AT: HELr ) shed 3.15% or 0.058 points to 1.782.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 37 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.40% or 4.90 to $1206.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.39% or 0.27 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.37 to trade at $77.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1662, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 94.70.
