Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 1.45%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare , Food and Household sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.45% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT: PLAKR ), which rose 3.57% or 0.500 points to trade at 14.500 at the close. K.L.M. (AT: KLUr ) added 3.24% or 0.022 points to end at 0.700 and J. & P. Avax (AT: AVAr ) was up 1.90% or 0.008 points to 0.429 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT: SELr ), which lost 4.84% or 0.0046 points to trade at 0.0904 in late trade. Kekrops SA (AT: KEKr ) declined 4.80% or 0.0600 points to end at 1.1900 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT: BOPr ) shed 3.74% or 0.098 points to 2.524.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 27 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 3.00 to $1222.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.29% or 0.86 to hit $67.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.78 to trade at $72.85 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.97% to 1.1416, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.8936.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 96.09.
