Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 1.47%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking , Basic Resources and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.47%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Plaisio Comp (AT: PLAr ), which rose 2.48% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.130 at the close. ThesKi Port (AT: OLTr ) added 2.02% or 0.50 points to end at 25.30 and Intercontinental International Real Estate Investment Company SA (AT: ICIr ) was up 1.82% or 0.100 points to 5.600 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT: BOPr ), which lost 13.23% or 0.250 points to trade at 1.640 in late trade. Reds (AT: CAMr ) declined 9.44% or 0.085 points to end at 0.815 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT: SELr ) shed 8.28% or 0.0056 points to 0.0620.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 25 and 6 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.63% or 19.40 to $1211.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.28% or 0.21 to hit $75.09 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.20% or 0.17 to trade at $84.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1560, while EUR/GBP rose 0.32% to 0.8906.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.04.
