Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 1.66%
Credit: © Reuters. – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking , Basic Resources and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.66% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT: SELr ), which rose 5.63% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.0750 at the close. Loulis Mills (AT: LOUr ) added 2.83% or 0.06 points to end at 2.18 and Ellaktor SA (AT: HELr ) was up 1.85% or 0.030 points to 1.654 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Intralot (AT: INLr ), which lost 10.71% or 0.072 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT: EURBr ) declined 7.03% or 0.0450 points to end at 0.5950 and Alpha Bank SA (AT: ACBr ) shed 6.91% or 0.091 points to 1.225.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 41 and 6 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 2.80 to $1208.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.06% or 1.45 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.44% or 1.15 to trade at $78.59 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1683, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8916.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 94.58.
