Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 1.84%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking , Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.84%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quest Holdings (AT: IQTr ), which rose 4.84% or 0.600 points to trade at 13.000 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT: IKTr ) added 2.24% or 0.1400 points to end at 6.4000 and Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT: HEPr ) was up 1.66% or 0.120 points to 7.340 in late trade.

Biggest losers included National Bank of Greece SA (AT: NBGr ), which lost 8.59% or 0.176 points to trade at 1.874 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT: BOPr ) declined 8.14% or 0.180 points to end at 2.030 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT: SELr ) shed 7.93% or 0.0068 points to 0.0790.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 26 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.10 to $1195.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.88% or 1.27 to hit $68.81 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.62% or 1.25 to trade at $78.62 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1580, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8912.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 95.26.
