Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 2.43%
Credit: © Reuters. – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Household and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 2.43% to hit a new 52-week low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Marfin Invest (AT: MRFr ), which rose 7.94% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.068 at the close. Reds (AT: CAMr ) added 3.14% or 0.025 points to end at 0.820 and Intralot (AT: INLr ) was up 2.65% or 0.016 points to 0.619 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT: BOPr ), which lost 7.62% or 0.093 points to trade at 1.127 in late trade. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT: MORr ) declined 6.14% or 1.40 points to end at 21.40 and Karatzi (AT: KRTr ) shed 5.97% or 0.400 points to 6.300.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 24 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 2.80 to $1191.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.89% or 0.66 to hit $74.95 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.90 to trade at $84.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1470, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8762.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 95.55.
