Greece shares lower at close of trade; Athens General-Composite down 0.13%

Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals , Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.13%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Reds (AT: CAMr ), which rose 7.30% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.397 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT: ELNr ) added 3.33% or 0.030 points to end at 0.930 and Iaso (AT: IASr ) was up 2.37% or 0.011 points to 0.475 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT: EPIr ), which lost 14.07% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.116 in late trade. Halcor (AT: XAKO ) declined 10.46% or 0.034 points to end at 0.291 and Flexopack SA (AT: FLXr ) shed 6.78% or 0.1600 points to 2.2000.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 46 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.24% or 3.15 to $1322.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.52% or 0.24 to hit $45.51 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.18 to trade at $46.99 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1008, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8317.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.06.
