Israel shares higher at close of trade; TA 35 up 0.98%

Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Biomed , Banking and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 gained 0.98%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE: TEVA ), which rose 4.69% or 142 points to trade at 3171 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TASE: OPK ) added 4.22% or 28 points to end at 686 and Israel Corp (TASE: ILCO ) was up 3.62% or 2880 points to 82430 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TASE: BEZQ ), which lost 3.86% or 10.0 points to trade at 249.0 in late trade. Delek Group (TASE: DLEKG ) declined 2.16% or 1360 points to end at 61640 and Melisron (TASE: MLSR ) shed 2.07% or 390 points to 18420.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 211 to 162 and 39 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.13% or 1.09 to $52.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.08% or 1.25 to hit $61.22 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 7.15 to trade at $1343.95 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was up 0.23% to 3.5987, while EUR/ILS rose 0.16% to 4.0590.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.018.
