Italy shares higher at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 up 0.60%

Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure , Telecoms and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.60%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI: TLIT ), which rose 2.90% or 0.0154 points to trade at 0.5472 at the close. Moncler SpA (MI: MONC ) added 2.31% or 0.68 points to end at 30.08 and Banca Generali (MI: BGN ) was up 2.26% or 0.41 points to 18.59 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI: SPMI ), which lost 2.92% or 0.1050 points to trade at 3.4950 in late trade. ENI (MI: ENI ) declined 1.79% or 0.26 points to end at 14.06 and Tenaris (MI: TENR ) shed 1.65% or 0.20 points to 11.62.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 215 to 136 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 6.61% or 3.61 to $51.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.80% or 3.63 to hit $58.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1223.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8843.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 96.828.
