Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.44% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 3.59% or 0.56 points to trade at 16.14 at the close. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) added 3.33% or 0.75 points to end at 23.28 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 1.53% or 0.37 points to 24.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which lost 1.35% or 0.064 points to trade at 4.690 in late trade. Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) declined 0.79% or 0.050 points to end at 6.240 and A2A (MI:A2) shed 0.63% or 0.009 points to 1.409.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 187 to 154 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.45% or 0.72 to $50.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.84% or 0.44 to hit $52.98 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 5.65 to trade at $1248.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.0724, while EUR/GBP fell 0.84% to 0.8586.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 100.01.
