Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.09% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 4.45% or 0.0365 points to trade at 0.8575 at the close. A2A (MI:A2) added 3.06% or 0.036 points to end at 1.213 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 2.75% or 0.72 points to 26.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which lost 1.02% or 0.085 points to trade at 8.255 in late trade. Unicredit (MI:CRDI) declined 0.56% or 0.0160 points to end at 2.8360 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) shed 0.54% or 0.12 points to 22.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 201 to 127 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.26% or 0.14 to $52.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $54.98 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.27% or 3.05 to trade at $1133.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0450, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8527.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 103.00.
