Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 6.64% or 0.156 points to trade at 2.506 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 6.42% or 0.1900 points to end at 3.1500 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) was up 5.98% or 0.196 points to 3.476 in late trade.
Biggest losers included A2A (MI:A2), which lost 0.77% or 0.010 points to trade at 1.293 in late trade. Enel (MI:ENEI) declined 0.40% or 0.016 points to end at 4.032 and Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) shed 0.17% or 0.010 points to 5.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 231 to 107 and 13 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.63% or 0.88 to $52.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.83% or 1.04 to hit $55.66 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.99% or 12.25 to trade at $1223.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.0598, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8481.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 101.04.
