Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.13%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials , Utilities and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.13%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Juventus Football Club (MI: JUVE ), which rose 7.19% or 0.0930 points to trade at 1.3870 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI: FCHA ) added 2.12% or 0.300 points to end at 14.438 and Ferrari NV (MI: RACE ) was up 1.99% or 1.92 points to 98.28 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI: UBI ), which lost 4.97% or 0.1220 points to trade at 2.3350 in late trade. Bper Banca SpA (MI: EMII ) declined 4.74% or 0.149 points to end at 2.995 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI: UNPI ) shed 4.45% or 0.175 points to 3.754.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 195 to 161 and 30 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.67% or 1.35 to $51.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.10% or 1.24 to hit $60.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.60 to trade at $1287.70 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.75% to 1.1388, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8945.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 95.833.
