Italy shares lower at close of trade; Italy 40 down 0.18%
Credit: © Reuters. – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials , Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Italy 40 declined 0.18%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI: BZU ), which rose 1.80% or 0.40 points to trade at 22.65 at the close. Recordati (MI: RECI ) added 1.51% or 0.55 points to end at 37.00 and Banca Generali (MI: BGN ) was up 0.79% or 0.22 points to 27.99 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Bper Banca SpA (MI: EMII ), which lost 1.97% or 0.084 points to trade at 4.190 in late trade. UniCredit SpA (MI: CRDI ) declined 1.61% or 0.2600 points to end at 15.9200 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI: YNAP ) shed 1.32% or 0.39 points to 29.26.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 218 to 139 and 18 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.22% or 0.13 to $58.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $64.97 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.60% or 7.60 to trade at $1278.20 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1839, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8850.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 93.00.
