Italy shares lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.53%

Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials , Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.53%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI: STM ), which rose 2.26% or 0.345 points to trade at 15.605 at the close. Banco Bpm SpA (MI: BAMI ) added 0.96% or 0.021 points to end at 2.213 and UniCredit SpA (MI: CRDI ) was up 0.57% or 0.0760 points to 13.4160 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI: SPMI ), which lost 5.01% or 0.2380 points to trade at 4.5130 in late trade. Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI: CPRI ) declined 4.60% or 0.35 points to end at 7.25 and CNH Industrial NV (MI: CNHI ) shed 2.57% or 0.262 points to 9.928.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 193 to 173 and 22 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.26% or 1.59 to $68.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.69% or 1.35 to hit $78.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1208.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1677, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8909.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 94.60.
